20 Minute Homemade Bread
Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1 cup milk
– 1/4 cup vegetable oil
– Optional: herbs, garlic, or cheese for flavor
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
3. Add the milk and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 1 minute, just until it comes together.
5. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a greased baking sheet.
6. Use a sharp knife to make a few slashes on the top of the loaf for decoration and to allow for steam to escape.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
